Rebecca has always held an interest in developing young people’s skills and knowledge about Sex and Relationships. Her background is in science education and through teaching the sex education aspects of the biology curriculum as well as delivering PSHE as a form tutor.
She decided to undertake the PSHE association CPD course in association with Roehampton University which she completed in 2009, before accepting a post as head of PSHE in a secondary school in Sheffield. During her 7 years as head of PSHE she piloted resources on consent from the PSHE association and was a member of an advisory panel to develop resources on gender and gender identify.
She is a passionate LGBTQ+ ally and has shared her expertise with a primary school in Sheffield as they supported a transitioning student. Rebecca now works as a study skills tutor with Autistic students in higher education.
